Cranberry and Brie Flatbread

🍒 Cranberry & Brie Flatbread

Sweet, tangy cranberry sauce meets creamy, melty Brie on a crisp flatbread, finished with toasted walnuts and fresh herbs. It’s an easy appetizer, light lunch, or holiday party snack that looks much more impressive than the effort required.

🛒 Ingredients

For the Flatbread

  • 2 large naan breads or flatbreads

  • 4–6 oz (115–170 g) Brie cheese, thinly sliced

  • ½ cup cranberry sauce

  • ¼ cup walnuts or pecans, roughly chopped

  • 1–2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1–2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves

  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Optional Toppings

  • Thinly sliced apple or pear

  • Arugula

  • Balsamic glaze

  • Fresh rosemary

  • A pinch of red pepper flakes

👩‍🍳 How to Make It

1. Preheat the Oven

Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet and lightly brush the edges with olive oil.

2. Add the Brie

Arrange the Brie slices evenly over the flatbread.

You can leave the rind on—it is edible and becomes wonderfully soft when baked.

3. Add the Cranberries

Spoon small dollops of cranberry sauce over the Brie.

Don’t spread it too thickly; leaving some areas of melted cheese exposed gives you a nice balance of sweet and savory flavors.

4. Add the Nuts

Scatter the chopped walnuts or pecans over the top.

They’ll toast slightly in the oven and add a satisfying crunch.

5. Bake

Bake for approximately 8–12 minutes, or until the Brie is melted and the edges of the flatbread are golden and crisp.

Watch carefully toward the end so the nuts don’t burn.

6. Finish

Remove from the oven and drizzle lightly with honey.

Sprinkle with fresh thyme and black pepper.

For an extra tangy finish, add a small drizzle of balsamic glaze.

🍐 Delicious Variations

Cranberry, Brie & Pear

Add very thin slices of fresh pear before baking for an elegant sweet-and-savory combination.

Cranberry & Apple

Use thinly sliced apple and a little cinnamon for a cozy fall-inspired version.

Spicy Cranberry Brie

Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or thinly sliced jalapeño for a sweet-and-spicy contrast.

Cranberry, Brie & Arugula

After baking, top with a handful of fresh arugula for peppery freshness.

⭐ Tips for the Best Flatbread

  • Don’t overload it: Too many toppings can make the flatbread soggy.

  • Use a hot oven: High heat helps crisp the base while melting the Brie quickly.

  • Toast the nuts carefully: They can go from golden to burnt quickly.

  • Slice after baking: Let it cool for a minute or two before cutting into wedges.

🍽️ Serving Idea

Cut the flatbread into small wedges and serve it as an appetizer alongside a fresh green salad.

The combination of crispy flatbread + creamy Brie + tart cranberry + crunchy toasted nuts + honey and thyme makes every bite a delicious mix of textures and flavors. 🍒🧀✨
